    3. Harvey, Thank you for your reply to my email. Your grandpa and my g-grandpa may have been friends. I believe my grandpa was sent to Northern Alabama by the RR in about 1877 where my grandpa's brother was born. I believe he was sent back to Franklin county Tennessee to work where my grandpa was born in 1878. I believe he stayed with the RR right up 1920. Your Mother's RR book sounds like something I need to look at. Could you possibly give me the name of the Book, the Author, and the date Published? Thank you much. His name was Zephaniah Polk Weaver. In about 1875 he went to work for the Rail Road, and probably there in Bedford County. He would have been about 16 years old at the time. I believe he became a Road Construction Engineer and may have worked for the Rail Road from about 1875 up to about 1920. My question is this; does anyone in Bedford, or anywhere else for that matter, have information on the Rail Road and/or its employees covering any part of the period from about 1875 to about 1920? Second question; Where can I find searchable Rail Road Pension Records and/or other employee records that might help me prove this? Thanks a lot. > > Don Weaver > [email protected] > > > > ==== TNBEDFOR Mailing List ==== > Visit the Bedford County Archives at Rootsweb: > > http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tn/bedford.htm > > Please contribute! > > ============================== > Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the > areas they lived.
