Would love to hear from anyone that might be working on this family. William Carlisle born: 1787 in N. Carolina and his wife Mary Carlisle born: 1790 in N. Carolina. They lived in Bedford County, TN and the children listed for them on the 1850 census were: James Carlisle b: 1825 Mary Ann Carlisle b: 1822 (She married a (?) Smith and had a daughter named Margaret Smith who was born ca 1853). John Carlisle b: 1829 and Thomas Carlisle b: 1830. They had a Barbary Brown born 1843 living with them and a Wm Brown born 1859 also living in their household. There was also a Elizabeth Carlisle b: 1830 listed and I believe she is the spouse of the above James Carlisle. Looking for the relationship of the Brown children with William and Mary Carlisle. Kathy
