    3. Bedford County List Members I would like to welcome you to join the Chestnut Ridge Cousins Organization. The meeting will take place Friday June 10 and Saturday June 11 at the Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. The June meeting will be the fourth meeting of the descendants of the pioneers who settled in the hills and valleys of the Chestnut Ridge area. This community is located in Southern Middle Tennessee where Bedford, Lincoln, Marshall and Moore counties come together. The organization was formed in 2002 to learn more about our heritage and to share genealogical research of "The Ridge" area. In the three previous meetings, fifteen states and many counties of Tennessee have been represented. The cousins assemble with family linage and many family stories to share. Among the speakers for this years event will be Don Mills, who will speak Friday night. Don works with the Walsworth Publishing Company which is currently working on publications of family history books for Lincoln, Coffee and Giles County. The Moore County book has been completed and I have mine in hand with many interesting family stories submitted by descendants of the early pioneer families. This years event also will feature a couple of Marshall County speakers with a vast knowledge of the area. The Saturday morning speaker will be Paulette Carpenter. She is the county coordinator for this list and the Maury County list of the TNGenWeb, the TNGenWeb David Donahue Records Repository assistant Archivist, UDSATA Repository Assistant Archivist, and Lead Archivist within USDATA for several states. Paulette, whose family roots are buried deep in Marshall County, will share information about data that is available from the Tennessee State Archives. The final presenter of the day will be Don Jeter of Lewisburg, will speak after dinner on Saturday evening. Don, who is a diligent researcher in the Marshall County area, is currently the president of the Marshall County Historical Society. He will speak on the issue of land grants of the area around Petersburg and "The Ridge" area.
