And, there is a book in the TN State Library and Archives with a section about this Brown family, Mead Relations by A. M. Prichard. This family is full of Daniel Browns, beginning with Daniel Brown born maybe about 1720 in New Jersey, who had a son Daniel who married Lucy Leftwich, perhaps daughter of Augustine Leftwich (some of this family came to Bedford Co, TN). This Daniel Brown was father of a Shadrack Brown. There were two Shadrack Brown marriages in Bedford Co, VA: 1787 to Hannah Mitchell and 1799 to Tabitha Hall. I have seen it said they were both the same man. I am not sure that is correct. At any rate the Shadrack Brown who married Tabitha Hall definitely came to Bedford Co, TN and stayed, raised a large family here and Tabitha lived long enough for her will to be one of the earliest that survived the courthouse fire. Other Daniel Browns: Henry (brother of Daniel b. 1720) had Daniel b. 1770, married Mary Hancock in 1803 and Daniel, son of Samuel (another son of Henry) and Mary Moore Brown who married 1798 (so this Daniel born after 1798). Another Brown family from Bedford Co, VA to Bedford Co, TN--if connected to those above, I don't know how: Hezekiah Brown, under 18 when his father made his will in Aug 1795 in Bedford Co, VA. Joseph Brown and wife Elizabeth (thought to be Elizabeth Dent) were parents of Hezekiah. I believe he was the Hezekiah who came to Bedford Co, TN because this family was associated with the John Yates family in Bedford Co, VA.
