DON, MY EXPERIENCE WITH R.R. RETIREMENT BOARD WHILE LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON MY HUSBANDS GR. AUNT. THEIR RECORDS START IN 1935. UNTIL THEN EACH INDIVIDUAL RAILROAD CO. KEPT THEIR OWN EMPLOYEE RECORDS. I WAS WANTING TO SEE IF SHE RECEIVED A PENSION AS THE WIDOW OF A BRAKEMAN KILLED IN A DERAILMENT. I ALSO NEED TO ENLIGHTEN YOU ABOUT THE R. R. MUSEUM IN SPRINGFIELD. THEY USED TO HAVE ON THEIR SITE AND I HAVEN'T CHECKED IN A COUPLE OF YEARS, THAT THEY WOULD RESEARCH WHAT THEY HAVE THERE. THEY WANT MONEY IN ADVANCE. DON'T SEND THEM ANY AS YOU WILL NEVER GET IT BACK AND THE R. R. MUSEUM WAS CLOSED DUE TO NOT ENOUGH VOLUNTEER HELP. I TALKED TO 3 PEOPLE THAT HAD SENT MONEY FOR COPIES OF RECORDS AND THEY NEVER GOT ANYTHING AND THEY DIDN'T GET THEIR MONEY BACK.
