Since we are talking about murder trials, I am trying to locate information on the trial of a Mr. Brown and a Mr. Pigg who shot and killed my gg grandfather Sept 24, 1884. Clement Wade was the gatekeeper on the first toll gate on the Shelbyville-Lewisburg Pike. He got into some sort of argument with Brown and Pigg and they shot him twice and my gg grandmother once. Patsy Wade survived the shooting and her obit appeared in the Shelbyville Gazette in April of 1890. The obit mentioned that she was the long time gatekeeper on the Lewisburg Pike. I found the account of the shooting of "old man Wade" in the Sept 25, 1890 edition of the Nashville Banner and the arrest and charging of Brown and Pigg. I searched the next two months worth of issues of the paper but never ran across another mention. The mocrofilm of the paper is at TSLA. Where would I locate the trial record of Brown and Pig?
