Did go to Genforum, you should try there, a couple of people seem to have data on David, that may go back several generations. He was born ca1824..died 1863, prob from wounds in the Civ War..someone even has a px of him in uniform. He married 1848 Pheobe Castile. Just go to the Tune forum and put inDavid.
