It's not jerry Waynce Cook's book but the book, The History of the 18th District has a listing for Martha C. Pickle in the1850 Census on page 16: Dwelling 99 Household 99 Jonathan Legit 41 NC Penelope 41 NC James M 21 TENN Richard C 18 TENN John C 17 TENN Henry C. 16 TENN Nancy M 14 TENN Mary Ann 13 TENN Robert F 7 TENN Daniel A 3 TENN Martha J. 1 TENN Martha C Pickel 18 TENN In another book Earliest County Court Records of Bedford Couhty TN page 107 October 1854 term page 328 G.T. Neeley admr. of estate of Henry Pickle, deceased. Jonathan Liggett and William H. Stephens, securtities page 112 1854 December Term Page 368 Commissiooners to lay off support to Rachael Pickle, widow of Henry Pickle, deceased. Interestingly enough the Bedford County Cemetery Book lists Henry Pickle buried in Pisgah Cemetery: On page 169 #3 Pisgah Cemetery Located near Lebannon Church in 18th District Sacred to the Memory of Henry Pickle who departed this life Sept 27, 1854 aged 74 yrs & Rachel, wife of Henry Pickle Deied May 1859 Aged 80 yrs. If they were in fact Martha C. Pickles parents, why did she live with the Leggits in 1854? Could have been a sister of hers. It may list the relationship on the actual census. Hope this helps some Good luck, Cindy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynn Visone" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2005 8:56 PM Subject: Re: [TNBEDFOR] Re: obituary Alma Louise Tune Holt 1884-1913 > Cindy, > Do any of your books have any mention of Martha C.
