I think I remember reading - in the newspaper article about his arrest and escape - that Marion Anderson, son of A.J. Anderson (the one I am looking for) was trying to reach Baucom during his escape. That may be his home. What county is that in? Perhaps that is where A.J. and Eliza originated. What year was it that the deed book mentioned AJ married to E.E. Anderson? -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, June 15, 2005 4:47 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [TNBEDFOR] AJ Anderson This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IhB.2ACI/585 Message Board Post: After double-checking my guess with my limited Jacob Anderson info, I agree with Carolyn that AJ md. to E.E. isn't a son, but I don't have many later generations and still remember "some little something" that makes me want to connect him with that family (grandson?? g-grandson??? location of the deed record???) I did go check Bedford Co. marriage records. There were none for an A.J. to E.E.!!!! The 2 that are in my line showed up (females Almedia Lacy and Lucinda Yoes). There were 2 others of note: 1. A.J. Anderson to Sarah Stephenson on 14 March 1866 with M. Anderson as security, by W.H. McFarlin (p. 198 in Records 1865-1868) and 2. Andrew Anderson to Sallie Ray, John Ray, security 29 March 1876 by H. D. Ranson (p. 299, vol B). Checking census records: 1870, 3 listings: my Andrew J. is still living with parents -there is a listing for AJ Anderson (30) and Sarah J. (25) with Mary H. (2) and George F. (1) in Dist. 1, Shelbyville PO - Also, an Andrew (46) with wife Nancy (33), john (12), Willis (10) and Margaret (8) in Dist. 19, Palmetto {this last Andrew shows up as son of Albert in court records and was in Albert's HH in 1850 census and was a close neighbor in 1860}. By 1880, no AJ listings found!!!!!; only Jac Anerson working as laborer with Cook family in Dist. 18 (this would be between his 2 known marriages.) Let me know if you see loopholes in my logic. ==== TNBEDFOR Mailing List ==== Visit the Bedford County Archives at Rootsweb: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tn/bedford.htm Please contribute! ============================== Search the US Census Collection.
