Has anyone done the DNA testing and is of benefit in your search? Carol
Hi Carol...Our Cooper cousins have done 8 tests so far and have connected with two different families we did not know about. We have tied two brothers together from the Bedford county area, in 1804/1840, Wells Cooper, born N.C. about 1780's and Zacheus Cooper, born 1779 in N.C.. We have a paper trail for both of them and this confirms the connection for us. They were grandsons of John Cooper who left a will in 1794, naming all of his children. We have connected with two of his sons, Samuel (father of Zacheus and Wells) and James Cooper who stayed in N.C. Decendants of these brothers matching tests confirms for us the paper trail we had before. I cant state strongly enough that if you have a good foundation, DNA test will be of benifit to you. Later...Joyce ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Hehemann" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 18, 2005 1:47 PM Subject: [TNBEDFOR] DNA testing > Has anyone done the DNA testing and is of benefit in your search? > Carol > > > ==== TNBEDFOR Mailing List ==== > Join the Bedford County Historical Society!
