    2. Researching William M. TAYLOR b. abt 1822 in TN (parents unknown) who married Clarissa ADAMS b. abt 1816 in NC (parents John ADAMS and Mary ? b. abt 1782 in NC. William is listed as a Jail keeper in 1850. Their children living with them are Permelia, age 2, and William, age 1, as well as Clarissa’s mother, Mary ADAMS, age 68, b. in NC. I cannot find William, Clarissa, or any of their children on the 1860 Census. William is not listed in the 1870 Census - Clarissa is listed as a housekeeper in the household of Hyram THIN and her son John is living with her in District 6, Coffee County, TN. Clarissa is listed in the 1880 Census as a widow and living with her is her son, John H. TAYLOR, his wife Alice, and Clarissa’s grandson, James, age 11, son of her son William J., in District 6, Coffee County, TN. Clarissa is not listed in the 1900 Census, but her son, John H., his wife Alice, and their children, William H, b. Sep 1889, Lida M., b. May 1891, Rebecca, b. Jan 1895, and James E., b. Jul 1897 are listed in District 6, Coffee County, TN. William and Clarissa’s son William J. married Mary B. THORPE abt 1868. John H. TAYLOR married Allice TURNER 11 Sep 1879 in Coffee County, TN by S. E. Wilson. Willam J.‘s son and John H.‘s nephew, James D. TAYLOR married Emma LANCASTER 25 Dec 1890 in Coffee County, TN by S. E. Wilson. John and Mary ADAMS moved from NC to the part of Bedford County, TN that later became Coffee County, TN sometime around 1825.
