Hi, Janet, I want to ask probably a dumb question which will not be my first! You mentioned WILLIAM TRICE and "By 1820 his name is on a list of dead letters in NC." Does this mean as in "dead letters" in a post office? If so, where would one look for the possibility of a list of dead letters for other states and counties? In fact I may have ancestors from Orangeburg myself and would like to know where you found this information.
