    1. Re: [TNBEDFOR] Re: Bedford Co. Book
    2. It is not in the book, except in the Shaw family story. As I recall, a black boy was accused of raping a white girl and was jailed in the courthouse. A mob surrounded the courthouse and finally burned it, but the prisoner was slipped out the back door and taken elsewhere. I couldn't find anything in the book regarding the burning of the courthouse in 1934 except it was a mob riot. Why did the people riot? If it's in the book, I apologize. 3. This is the story my dad has always told, also, so I believe that's correct. 1. [TNBEDFOR] Lady called Haskey
    2. Listers, Do you know or have ever run across a lady with the unusual given name of Haskey? I need to prove her maiden name and some of her marriages. Haskey and her children left Bedford County for Pope County, Arkansas before 1850. Her unproven maiden name is MADDOX. In Bedford County, she was married to William STEWART and an unproven McDANIEL and a NOBBLETT. She arrived In Arkansas as a NOBBLETT but then married (proven) a CRAIN and TALBOTT. My wife descends from her STEWART marriage. Thanks for ANY leads! Ron Adams Neighbor to Historical Fort Atkinson that overlooks the Missouri River Valley
