I am so sorry I neglected to put any dates in my post. I have no dates on Elisha and wife, Sarah Loyd. Their son was born in 1847 near Shelbyville, Bedford Co, TN. The only thing close to possibly being any of these three people was a finding on the 1850 census for Bedford Co.; there is a Loyd, Sarah, age 26, born TN, with a son, James, age 6, born TN. That would be the wrong age for my James Daniel Loyd. But, who knows? Then again on the 1860 Bedford Census is a Loyd, "Sallie", age 36, born TN, and son, James, age 14, born TN. The people on these two censuses could possibly be the same people. But, there is no mention of a husband and father for either household. So, if these could be my people, Elisha appears to have died (?) by 1850. I have lots of info regarding James Daniel Loyd starting with him going to Arkansas at the age of 16. With or without his parents (?), we do not know. Would like to know though. I have him getting married in Batesville, Independence Co, AR on August 17, 1870. Have wife's name, her parents, and all there children, etc. My BIG desire is to find Sarah's maiden name, then hopefully her parents. But, would also like to find Elisha Loyd's parents. The name of Howell Loyd comes with our family's story of our ancestor Loyd's. The story is that possibly Howell Loyd came over from Wales as a young man in the early 1800's. Possibly worked the coal mines in Wales and maybe east TN before going to Bedford Co, TN. Do not know if "Howell" Loyd could possibly be Elisha Loyd's father. And, if so, who would his wife be? I do know there was a Howell Loyd listed on the 1830 census for Bedford Co. But, never have found any more mention of him anywhere. Have been searching for these people about eight years now. Would love to make contact with someone out there. Thanks in advance for any help from any of you. Sydney
