    1. [TNBEDFOR] Family of John Theophilus Thompson (ca 1755 - 1828)
    2. Steve Carson
    3. We are setting up a research web site for the family of John Theophilus Thompson (ca 1755 - 1828). The family group is:: 1. Theophilus Thompson was born between 1750 and 1760 in , Frederick, Maryland. He died on April 10, 1826 in Shelbyville, Bedford, Tennessee. He was married to Mary Newcome about 1778. Mary Newcome was born between 1750 and 1760. She died after 1792. Theophilus Thompson and Mary Newcome had the following children: +2 i. Joseph Thompson (born on March 30, 1782). +3 ii. Nancy Thompson (born about 1784). +4 iii. Samuel Thompson (born in 1784). +5 iv. Richard Thompson (born about 1788). 6 v. Theophilus Thompson was born about 1790 in , Orange, North Carolina. He died about 1820 in , Orange, North Carolina. +7 vi. Newcomb Thompson (born on December 27, 1792). The above data comes from the book "John Theophilus Thompson, Some Ancestors and Descendants in Frederick County, Maryland, Orange County, North Carolina and Bedford County, Tennessee". One of the authors of that book is assisting in this research. The particular focus of this research is identifying the family of Richard Thompson, although we will be collecting and analyzing records on the entire family in the process of doing this. The web site will collect digital images of the applicable records and other data we collect, transcriptions and abstracts of records, and analysis. I am using my company's SharePoint portal for this work - so the site will have document libraries (that participants can download from and upload to), wikis (where participants can contribute to an edit the on-line text), discussion lists, and other features common to SharePoint sites. The site is not public and requires a username and password to access. This is because of the damage that someone with ill intent could do using the site (for example, distributing illicit material through it). Anyone interested in this research is welcome to participate. Please e-mail me directly and request access and I will give you the web address and assign you a username and password.

    2. Nena Wright
    3. P. S. The 1850 Census, I was referring to shows Joel Darnell, 1779 (wife NANCY) not Lucinda. Unless you have another record of another Joel Darnell! Which would be Joel's, 1779 son Joel, 1812. Of which I have no name for his wife...Please share: nena_w@att.net. Nena
