I am copying and pasting the directions that she sent. I have a gg..grandfather buried here. "You will find that cemetery by takeing 41a towards Shelbyville. It is a lovely ride. The market in Unionville will be helpfull & if you stay on 41a there is a sign to Crowells Church & Cem." I believe she told me in a phone conversation that 41a is Nolensville Road, if you are coming from Nashville. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I also want to know more about your Mitchells. There seems to be some connection between my ancestor, Willis B. H. Clements (Clemmons), and the Mitchell family. June 4, 1827 John C. Clement (possible father of my Willis B. H. Clements) sold land in Bedford County, TN to Robert Mitchell with witnesses Nathan M. Mitchell and Samuel PLumlee (registered in Deed Book W, p 355). On the same day, John C. Clement sold land to Issabela Mitchell with witnesses John Byler, D. K. Mitchell, R. W. Mitchell, and Jas. T. Byler. Registered in Deed Book AA, p 402. All these people lived in the NW corner of Bedford County around the community now called Rover. One Robert Mitchell married Drusilla Everett in Davidson County, TN (Nashville) June 1, 1789. Robert Mitchell and Drusilla Everett were listed as neighbors in 1830 in Rutherford County, TN. Thomas R. Mitchell married Nancy Pullam in 1837 in Davidson County, TN. I believe the mother of Willis B. H. Clements was Jane Pullen or Pulley. Does any of this ring a bell with you? 3. Perhaps this is a good time to clear a mistake I've seen previously in Haynes/Crick data. The last line of this document, there is a daughter, Caroline Mincy listed. She's been listed as Mrs. Wade Mincy on occasion (based on an old reunion picture printed in the Shelbyville Gazette). That is an error! Sarah Caroline Haynes (b.1848 d. 1939), daughter of Joseph Tillman Haynes and Sarah Boatwright, married Henry Clay WADE on 5 Jan 1869 and Radford Sanford MINCY around 1900 (they were newlyweds in the 1900 census). 3. Marty, Are you saying here that James Stem was a Deacon at Kingdom, or that Thomas Sanders Stem was the Deacon? I know Thomas Sanders Stem was a Deacon, but haven't heard about James. Our records prior to 1962 are lost, and we have tried to piece together as much history as much history as we could. Mrs. Ella Cook provided a lot of information before she died. Also, if you happen to run across anything about the Kingdom Church in your research, please let me know. With the old obits that we stumble across, we have pieced together a list of some of the members from years ago. Thanks for all you do!!!!! 3. I am working with some other researchers to try and tie up some loose ends in research of the Meadows families of early Bedford and Warren counties (before Coffee County was divided off). One clue we are following is the following Warren County, TN plats: Warren County TN Plats, Volume I, Page 197. Surveyed 21 October 1825 for Sarah DRAKE 25 acre entry 6 July 1824 No. 510 on the waters of Hickory Creek adjoining the lands of Thomas WOOD, Iverson MEADOWS and James WILSON, John DICKERSON's east boundary line of a tract in the name of Tho. WOOD, WILSON's line. Levi LOYD & Iverson MEADOWS CC. Wm M. DOUGLAS DS. Warren County TN Plats, Volume II, Page 231 Surveyed 22 Aug 1831 for James D. Coffy 100 acres, entry dated 16 Feb, 1830. No 2942 on the waters of Hickory Creek, post oak marked J.D.C. about 50 yds. N. W. of the road leading from James Wilson Jun's toward the stone fort perhaps one mile thereabouts, west of lands of Elias Hopkins, including a bark camp built by travelers. Richd Cunningham and Daniel Meadows CC. A. Higginbotham DS. Aug 25, 1831. Sent on 3 Jan 1832 by A. B. Lane. Both Richard Cunningham and Daniel Meadows are found in early Bedford County, TN records. On 1850 census of Morgan County, AL, there are two Coffee women living in the household with the Daniel Meadows we are researching and his family. One is Nancy Coffee, born about 1790 in NC, and Eliza, born about 1828. We are particularly interested in the James D. Coffy in one of the plats above as well as the Iverson Meadows (the Daniel Meadows we are researching has a son named Iverson.) If anyone has any relevant information, please contact me. As part of this research, I have compiled abstracts of the Coffees in Second District Surveys and Bedford County, TN deeds up to 1840. I would be happy to send a copy to any researchers who want it 0 e-mail me directly to request it.
