    3. About the early marriage records. A cousin went to that area of TN spent most of two weeks there locating records. They found our family records at a library in Shelbyville, they were told they didn't have those records but they found them. They checked court houses, libraries, church records, funeral homes and talked to people they saw in these places. She didn't find anymore about our families Joshua & Sarah except the date of their marriage and their correct names and that is found now on a FTM CD, she left a message at the Bedford CO library about what she found, doesn't know how it got on the CD. 1. [TNBEDFOR] April 21, 2002: Historical Marker for Mary Shirley McGuire
    2. Kathryn Hopkins
    3. Hello list - Thought this might be of interest. ================================================================== A historical marker dedication ceremony in honor of Mary Shirley McGuire, an American wife, mother and Revolutionary War patriot buried in Bedford County, will be held Sunday, April 21, 2002 at Horse Mountain Road Cemetery. The ceremony is being planned by the Mary Shirley McGuire Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Dallas, Texas, which, along with host chapter Shelby Chapter DAR of Bedford County, will welcome as their special keynote speaker Linda Tinker Watkins, president general of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. A bus with chapter members and descendants of Mary McGuire will arrive in Shelbyville on April 20. Taking place at 2 p.m. April 21 at Horse Mountain Church of Christ will be a dedication service, which will include recognition of McGuire descendants, among whom will be Sallie Mackey, regent of Dallas's Mary Shirley McGuire Chapter. After the unveiling ceremony, a reception will be held in the church annex. Historic studies reveal that Mary Shirley McGuire, her husband William and their young son Michael were taken from their Virginia farm on June 26, 1780, to Quebec, Canada, where they were held as prisoners of war by the British. After being in Canada for two years, the McGuires were released in a prisoner exchange. In their long walk back to Virginia, their older son, Michael, died but a son Thomas, born while they were in Canada, survived the trip. After the war ended, the McGuires moved form Virginia to Madison County, KY, and then in the early 1800s moved to Bedford County where they purchased land, built a cabin at the base of Horse Mountain and raised eight children. Many of their descendants remain in Bedford County. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - online filing with TurboTax http://taxes.yahoo.com/

    3. Robie I have a set of CD's of marriages published by LDS in 1998. The name Zebidee and variation thereof appears 18 times. There are but two Zebidee Harris marriages, however neither fit your dates. It is such a unusual name, perhaps he married later in life and the following may be of some benefit:: Zebidee HARRIS married Mary TAYLOR Oct 28 1854 in Bibb Co, Alabama. Ref FHL# 1031250 Zebidee HARRIS married Mary BREWER Nov 17 1872 in Dallas Co, Alabama. Ref FHL# 1289628 There were no John or Mary Harris marriages recorded during your time frame in Tenn. Bedford Co 1812 tax list: Harrice, Sam'l B. - John Byler's company (NW corner of the county) Evan Harris - same James Harris, 2 Johns - same Isham Harris - Richard Neely's company James Harris - John B.
