Hi to my fellow Bedford Co. researchers: I was visiting Bedford County's northern neighbor - Rutherford County (at the TNGenWeb site that is) And to my surprise was a lady who has posted some fabulous information relative to Bedford Co. She has posted the following information (index format) - I believe she calls it "Marty's Bedford County Page": - Loose Wills for 1847-1890 - Loose Wills for 1890-1896 - Loose Wills for 1896-1912 - Shelbyville Gazette Obits, 1931-1935 - History of the Harris Family (very interesting and very early information on this family) The URL address is: http://www.tngenweb.org/rutherford/marthagail2.htm Or try this hyperlink (if it will work for you): Bedford Co. Information at the Rutherford TNGenWeb Page This might be another case of where I am behind the "8-Ball" and almost everyone knows about this site except me. If so, forgive me and chalk another one up to a "LOL". Hope it helps some of you. Good luck, Lucy Dunaway Zeier Minden, Nevada
Hello My g.g.g.grandfather was Robert Columbus Russ of Shelbyville, Tn. are you any relation. W. Wilde
Bedford County, TN marriage records for 1897 are intact and have been transcribed and published by Mr. and Mrs. Tim Marsh. The Russ/Johnson marriage is not included. You might try Wayne Co, TN as Russ is a well-known name there and you are more likely to find an Indian presence there than in Bedford County. List Members: Was it on this list that there was a query about a hanging in Richmond back in the early years? I have ask a person that knows a lot of history about the area, if he had heard of it and he is coming up with some information about it. He recently gave my wife a little information on it and I will talk to him and get the information that he knows and post it if this is the list that the query was on. Thank you! Thank you so very much for telling us about this wonderful book. I went to my local library today and spent hours going through this book. I was able to make a connection of my family line that I have been working on for over a year. Again thank you for sharing. Becky

Greg, I've been looking for some time for information like this for my Graham ancestors from Tennessee. Would there be Grahams in this book? I don't know the name the father would have had, but the sons were John and Joshua, and James and William were also common names in this family (and every other family, unfortunately). Thanks so much. Beverly Park Peavler At 06:18 PM 7/24/02 -0500, Greg and Ginger Keeling wrote: >Ann, >There is one, and this is the entire entry for him: > >"So. Hello, Do you happen to have a listing for a Richard W., George W., Nathaniel, or William Hill? They lived in Bedford TN and moved to MO in ca 1834. The father, William Hill, might have gone there earlier? Thanks for the look up Diana

Surnames: Williams, Tate, Hawkins, Howard, Mount, Keele Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IhB.2ACI/38.71 Message Board Post: Hi Karen. . . . with great interest I have been reading your posts regarding the Williams family of Jefferson Co., IL and TN. I am working on my husband's genealogy records and he descends from James Jackson Williams also. He also descends from another Williams line in Jefferson County: Atha Nash Williams who married Sarah E. Howard. Atha Nash claims his state of birth as TN also and was born in 1845. My question is this: have you determined a list of children of Moses Williams (James Jackson's father)? I'm wondering if they might possibly be brothers. Also, since writing on the Williams family last, were you able to get any photos or family history from anyone else researching this family line? Many thanks in advance, Diane
