    1. Re: [TNBEDFOR] David S. Curle (1841-1903)
    2. Kathryn Hopkins
    3. Hi Mike, I did want to pass along that David is buried with both of his wives. His second wife, Fannie A. Jennings, was the daughter of Edmond W. Jennings (February 11, 1818- November 20, 1912) and had at least 5 other siblings. She was also previously married on August 05, 1882 in Bedford County to W. Don Madison (September 07, 1852- April 15, 1887). He is buried in the Madison Cemetery in Bedford County. They had at least two children, Vera Don Madison and Nanie Lee Madison. Perhaps someone else on the list can assist with some of these details. There are some census lookups that could be done that will help with the more details. I did find a "David", age 8 in the 1850 census in the Household of a "Portland" Curle in Franklin County. From the land records below, it looks like a Portland Curle was in Rutherford County before moving to Bedford, as early as 1825. I did not find a record for Portland in the Bedford County Cemetery book. You might want to have a look around Franklin or Rutherford Counties. Defitinely worth looking at the 1860 and 1870 census records to see if you find them. Hope the following helps; I will pass more info along if I find it. 3. My transcription of the records of the Allison Land Deal has been posted to the web site: http://www.tngenweb.org/bedford/ You can go directly to the records at this URL: http://www.tngenweb.org/bedford/Allison_Land_Deal.htm or find the under "Land Records" on the main page. I thank Charles Reeves for posting them These records describe a series of transactions in 1823 that cleared the title to many properties in the Three Forks area of Bedford County, Tennessee. They contain descriptions of the property involved, listing the name of the owner(s), the number of acres, the watercourse on whose drainage the land was located, and the names of the owners of abutting property. This information is very useful for understanding who the neighbors of a given family were, and therefore in the search for hard to find information such as the maiden names of wives.
