    3. LeftwichSharing Leftwich info. Ginny Keefer ----- Original Message ----- From: Charles O. Schull To: Virginia L. (Ginny) Keefer in LasVegas Sent: Tuesday, April 19, 2005 10:27 PM Subject: Leftwich Hi Ginny, It ever stop raining down there? I think you know my line of Leftwitches, mixed with Stones and Hopkins and Higgins. My g. grandmother Sarah Leftwich Higgins goes back through her mother Francis Hopkins STONE, d/o Micajah STONE Jr. & Sarah Leftwich>> Littleberry LEFTWICH. Littleberry was born 1757 in Bedford Co, VA not TN. His father Augustine LEFTWICH 1712 Caroline Co, VA and died there 1795 married to Mary NORTH. They had issue of 12 and Littleberry the only one listed as where ( Bedford Co, VA 1757-1823 ). Littleberry married, 1778 Bedford Co, Francis Hopkins and they has issue of 7. Of which, Mary Polly married John Reece, Eglantine married Rev James Cole ( Primitive Baptist Church, Belleville TN ), and Sarah married Micajah Stone Jr. At this point we get to Lincoln Co, Tn as they both died there. The Stone line was from Bedford Co, VA and First I find to Lincoln was Micajah STONE Jr. His father , Micajah Sr. also came from Caroline Co, VA to Bedford. Micajah STONE Jr. m. 1801 Sarah LEFTWICH and had issue of 12. Francis " Fannie " Hopkins Stone married Owen W. Higgins 1824 in LCT and thus one of their 8 was ultimately my g. grandmother, m. to D. B. SHULL. G. G. Fannie's brother Littleberry Leftwich STONE was father of James Drake STONE that married Susie SHULL, d/o D. B. SHULL and Julia Ann Davis, his 1st wife. I tried to find the LEFTWICH those folks were looking for but there is a passel of them out there. If they are interested, I could run a descendant Report and then just maybe, who knows. 1. Rail Road Tracks in Bedford
    2. Don Weaver
    3. Hello Bedford List; This may not seem like genealogy but it may help me find my g-grandpa who was born in Bedford County in 1859. His name was Zephaniah Polk Weaver. In about 1875 he went to work for the Rail Road, and probably there in Bedford County. He would have been about 16 years old at the time. I believe he became a Road Construction Engineer and may have worked for the Rail Road from about 1875 up to about 1920. My question is this; does anyone in Bedford, or anywhere else for that matter, have information on the Rail Road and/or its employees covering any part of the period from about 1875 to about 1920? Second question; Where can I find searchable Rail Road Pension Records and/or other employee records that might help me prove this? Thanks a lot. Don Weaver [email protected]

Surnames: Brown, Leftwich, Yates, Hall, Moore, Dent, Mitchell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IhB.2ACI/568.1.1 Message Board Post: Tanya, Strangely, Browns from Bedford Co, VA came to Bedford Co, TN. And, there is a book in the TN State Library and Archives with a section about this Brown family, Mead Relations by A. M. Prichard. This family is full of Daniel Browns, beginning with Daniel Brown born maybe about 1720 in New Jersey, who had a son Daniel who married Lucy Leftwich, perhaps daughter of Augustine Leftwich (some of this family came to Bedford Co, TN). This Daniel Brown was father of a Shadrack Brown. There were two Shadrack Brown marriages in Bedford Co, VA: 1787 to Hannah Mitchell and 1799 to Tabitha Hall. I have seen it said they were both the same man. I am not sure that is correct. At any rate the Shadrack Brown who married Tabitha Hall definitely came to Bedford Co, TN and stayed, raised a large family here and Tabitha lived long enough for her will to be one of the earliest that survived the courthouse fire. Other Daniel Browns: Henry (brother of Daniel b. 1720) had Daniel b. 1770, married Mary Hancock in 1803 and Daniel, son of Samuel (another son of Henry) and Mary Moore Brown who married 1798 (so this Daniel born after 1798). Another Brown family from Bedford Co, VA to Bedford Co, TN--if connected to those above, I don't know how: Hezekiah Brown, under 18 when his father made his will in Aug 1795 in Bedford Co, VA. Joseph Brown and wife Elizabeth (thought to be Elizabeth Dent) were parents of Hezekiah. I believe he was the Hezekiah who came to Bedford Co, TN because this family was associated with the John Yates family in Bedford Co, VA.
