Thanks Teresa. None of my image software wants to recognize a bitmap image. I guess the 7th Dist. is just programmed different.
Steve, Thanks for the maps. 7th Civil Dist. is the one of interest to me, but I'm not able to save this particular one as a .gif file. I checked a couple other districts, and .gif is an option for them. I am only getting options for the 7th Dist. of .art or .bmp. I don't seem to have any programs compatible with those. Any suggestions? Thanks, Velma

Teresa: Yes, I know how to do links to pixel locations within into images. But first someone needs to create an index to all the names that appear in the images. This alone takes quite a while to do (and is, by itself, a valuable thing to have!) Then you have to manually create all the necessary links in an html creation program such as Front Page. I just don't have the time to do this right now and thought it was of value to the community to just get the maps posted. Most researchers know what Civil District and/or town their ancestors lived in, so not having an index is not an overwhelming obstacle to the use of the material. If someone wants to volunteer to create an "everyname" index to all these map files that would be a welcome contribution as would linking names to the right image file and then to locations in that file.
