    3. Clinton Courier June 30, 1983 Flatford 60 Dies Of Cancer A native of Union County who came to this area about 25 years ago, Clyde G. Flatford, 60, of Clinton Rt.1, died of cancer at his home Monday morning. Flatford had been living with his son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Ruby Flatford of Brushy Valley Rd. He had been disabled several years and was a former employe of C.B. Atkins furniture building company in Knoxville. Flatford served stateside with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Flatford also is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leona Flatford, six daughters, Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Hutcheson, Mrs. Lewis (Mildred) Mitchell, Mrs. Jerry (Susan) House, all of Clinton, Mrs. Jimmy (Gail) Cobb of Speedwell, Mrs. Jackie (Denna) Crowley of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Steve (Teresa) Lowe of Kingston, another son, Roger and Teresa Flatford of Clinton, 17 grandchildren and a brother, Sylvester Flatford of Knoxville. Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Revs. David Crowley and Ray Hunley officiatng. Burial will be in Ridenour Cemetery.
