Clinton Courier Sept. 8, 1977 Seizure Fells Widow Of Coal Miner Mrs. Rosie Lee Carroll, 84, of Laurel Grove Community,Briceville Rt.1, died Tuesday at her home of a heart attack. She was the wife of William Carroll, a coal miner who died in 1962. She was a member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and sewing. Mrs. Carroll was a native of the Briceville area and daughter of the late Tom and Manda Weaver Harness. Survivors include a son, Ramsey Carroll of Knoxville, two daughters, Mrs. Elie (Lela) Roysden of Briceville Rt.1, and Mrs. Robert (Betty June) Carroll of Oliver Springs Rt.2, a step-daughter, Mrs. Mathiea Lively of Clinton, 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Laurel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Guy Lively and the Rev. Henry Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Harness Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday (tonight) at the Martin Funeral Home chapel in Lake City.
