Clinton Courier Oct.9, 1975 Ex-Clinton Woman Dies Of Attack A former resident and one-time Anderson County school teacher, Mrs. Maude Carden Brown, 84, died unexpectedly early Sunday morning at her home in Andersonville od a heart attack. Her health had been stable until the attack. Mrs. Brown, the widow of Willard F. Brown, resided in Clinton, where her husband operated a grocery store, from 1925 until 1955. She taught in five schools over a 16 year period, beginning at the age of 18 at Beech Grove Elementary School. She later taught at Briceville, Andersonville, Belmont and Clinton schools. A native of Andersonville and the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Carden, she had resided there on Highway 61 since her husband's death 1955. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Andersonville and continued regularly to attend services until her death. Mrs. Brown is survived by one sister, Mrs. Roger Redden of Andersonville. Funeral services were Tuesday in the chapel of Holley Gamble Funeral and was conducted by the Rev. Marvin Nail. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery.
