Clinton Courier Oct. 5, 1978 Stroke Fells Clinton Area Woman Mrs. Phyllis Marie Goodman, 60, of Pleasant View Rd. Clinton Rt.7, died at around 11 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Hospital of a stroke. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and enjoyed raising flowers and canning vegetables. Mrs. Goodman was a native of Campbell County and resident if the Clinton area for 30 years. Survivors include her husband, Luther Goodman, four sons, Kenneth, Cleo and Lonnie Goodman of Clinton, Bobby Goodman of Hammonds, Ind., a daughter, Mrs. Betty Byrd of Clinton, three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Parlie Smith and Mrs. Eva Kidwell of Clinton Rt.7, and a brother, Luther Sharp of Clinton Rt.2. Funeral services will be held ay 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Luttrell officiating. Burial was be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday (tonight) at Martin Funeral Home in Clinton.
