Clinton Courier Aug. 7, 1996 Edith Weaver Aug.6, 1996 Edith Pemberton Weaver, 89, of Oak Ridge, formerly of Lake City, died Tuesday Aug.6, 1996, in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was born Dec.30, 1906 in Anderson County. She was a of First Baptist Church in Lake City and a past worthy matron of Coal Creek Chapter 226 of Order of Eastern Star. She was also an avid bridge player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey A. Weaver, daughter, Dorothy Steele, son, Dewey A. Weaver Jr., parents, Charles and Glida Robbins Pemberton, and five brothers. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dr. Raymond Chambers of Oak Ridge, grandchildren, Diane Steele Solomon of Kingston, Sherry Crisp and husband, Russell of Knoxville, Carol Leigh Johnson and husband, Scot, of Hawaii, great-grandchildren, Denise Bilbrey and husband, Mike, Thomas Howell Solomon, Rachel Crisp, Sarah Crisp, all of Knoxville, son-in-law, Thomas R. Steele of Lake City, sister, Louise Day of Powell and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Markham officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in Sunset Cemetery in Clinton. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 126, Lake City, 37769. The family will receive friends 6:30 -8:30 p.m. Thursday in Cox Funeral Home with funeral services to follow.
