He was preceded in death by wife; Della Mae Brown; sons, J L and Dallas Brown; grandson, James Dewayne Brown; sisters, Martha Corn, Pearl Phillips, Ruth Aslinger and Ella White; brothers, Bill and George Brown. Funeral services will be 5 PM Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the Brown's Flat Baptist Church with the Rev Jimmy Lindsay, the Rev Jay Braden and the Rev Jimmy Ray Seiber officiating. Mrs Brown was a homemaker and member of New Pilot Baptist Church in the New River community. She was born Jan 3, 1943, in Anderson County, the daughter of Oma Phillips of Oliver Springs and Charlie Phillips, now deceased. She was considered a loving wife and mother, the family said. In addition to her mother, Mrs Brown is survived by her husband of 37 years; Philmore Brown; two daughters, Crystal Brown of Briceville and Eleshia Oldham and her husband, Bill, of Lake City; a son, Will Brady Brown and his wife, Donna, of Clinton; and three grandsons, Darrian Brown of Clinton and Erik Oldham and Derek Oldham, both of Lake City. She is also survived by four sisters; Wilma Daugherty and Mary Phillips, both of Clinton, Billie Patterson of Briceville and Loretta Bunch of Coalfield; and two brothers, J P Phillips of Clinton and Charles Ray Phillips of Oliver Springs. The funeral was held Sunday morning, April 6, at New Pilot Baptist Church with the Rev Oscar Patterson and the Rev Steve Randolph officiating. Burial was at Patterson Cemetery.
