Notes for Mary Alice Seiber: Clinton Courier - Jan 27, 1993 Funeral services for Mary Alice Seiber, 80, will be held at 2 PM Thursday at the Big Mountain Baptist Church. The Rev David Coffman and the Rev Frank Collett will officiate. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state one hour before the services. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs Seiber died Monday morning at her home on Airport Road, Oliver Springs. She was born in Devonia on March 3, 1912. Her parents were the late Mary Lucinda Seiber and Harvey Seeber. She married Crosley Seiber in Devonia and they moved to Oliver Springs in the 1940s. Mr Seiber died in 1978. A homemaker, Mrs Seiber was a member of Big Mountain Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. A daughter; Lois Faye Seiber; and six brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters; Gladys Liles, Wilma Seeber, and Carolyn Seiber; five sons, and two daughters-in-law, Eldon and Georgia Seeber, Harlan Seeber, Lewis Seeber, Austin Seeber, and Ray and Mary Seeber, all of Oliver Springs; a sister, Lily Mae Brummitt of Lenoir City; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her first great-great-grandchild is due in September. Born Oct 12, 1919, in Shea, she was the daughter of Richard Kennedy and Ida Belle Byrge Kennedy, both now deceased. She was the widow of Lee V Seiber. She was also preceded in death by two sons; Clifford Edward Seiber and Clarence Everett Seiber; two brothers, Matt Kennedy and Hoye Kennedy; and a granddaughter, Halie Marie Seiber. The late Mary "Babe" Edwards was considered as a special lifelong friend. Mrs Seiber lived in the Frost Bottom community since 1939. She was a homemaker and a member of the Friendly Welcome Missionary Baptist Church. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, quilting and cooking for family and friends. He enjoyed gardening and each summer raised tomatoes and peppers for his children. He also maintained the family cemetery plots.
