Clinton Courier March 4, 1982 Lake City Native, Rev. Foust, Dies A native of Lake City who had lived in Oak Ridge nearly 35 years ago, the Rev. S.E. (Gabby) Foust, 55, of 103 Venus Rd, died Sunday morning at Oak Ridge Hospital after a lingering illness. Rev. Foust was a member of Island Ford Baptist Church near Lake City and performed evangelistic work at several churches in the area. He had been a truck driver at Oak Ridge National laboratory since moving to Oak Ridge. Rev. Foust served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy L. Foust, who died in 1978. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pauline Nance Foust, daughter, Mrs. David S. (Peggy) Phillips of Oak Ridge, son, Leslie D. Foust of Oak Ridge, four grandchildren, sister, Mrs. Herbert (Avenell) Heatherly of Knoxville and four brothers, Lowell M. Foust of Oak Ridge, Kenneth Foust of South Clinton, the Rev. Elmer Foust of Georgia and Carlos Foust of California. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Island Ford Baptist Church with the Rev. R. S. Phillips and the Rev. Don Ambrose officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
