Clinton Courier April 1, 1954 Child Is Victim Of Accident Indian Fork Girl IS County's Second Traffic Fatality The two and one-half year old daughter if Mr. and Mrs. Pless Seivers of Indian Fork, little Martha Jane Seivers, became Anderson County's second traffic victim when she was run over by a car driven by the Rev. Willis West about 7 p.m. Friday near her home. Deputies Paul Hale an Rexie Bunch, who investigated, said West was backing his car out of his driveway when the little girl darted across behind it. They said West had stopped the car once and got out to warn the children to stay out of the way. West is a next-door neighbor of the Seivers. The child was taken to the offices of a Moore Coal Co. physician where she died about an hour after the accident. Survivors are her parents; one brother, James, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Seivers of Indian Fork and Mr. and Mrs. Rasher Burris of Knoxville Rt.15. Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Jacob Chambers officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery with Cox of Lake City in charge.
