Clinton Courier March 4, 1982 Lake Citian Coal Miner's Widow Dies A native of Virginia who had lived near Lake City most of her life, Mrs. Della Carden, 72, of Duff Rd. north of Lake City, died at her home last Thursday morning. Mrs. Carden , who enjoyed flower gardening, was the widow of Zelmer Carden, a retired coal miner who died in January 1981. She was a member of the Longfield Baptist Church. She is survived by five sons, Zelmer Carden Jr, Leonard and Bruce Carden, all of Lake City, Glemath Carden of Detroit, Mich, and Ellis Carden of Heiskell, three daughters, Mrs. Louise Harless of Clinton, Mrs. Reba Daniels of Knoxville and Mrs. Betty Beach of Lake City, 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Longfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Mack Smith and the Rev. Larry Watts officiating. Burial was in Disney Cemetery.
