He married (1) Martha Wilson May 29, 1875 in Campbell Co, TN, daughter of Lewis Wilson and Elizabeth Hansly. He married (2) Nettie (Etta) Harmon Bef. 1911. He is survived by three sons; Wiley and Sherman of Lake City, and Luther of Clinton, RFD 3; and four (sic) daughters, Mrs Eva Tidwell and Mrs Perlie Smith of Clinton, RFD 3, and Mrs Phillip Goodman of Jacksboro, RFD 1. Funeral services were Saturday at 2 PM at Grantsburg Baptist church near LaFollette with burial in Pond Cemetery. The Rev W M Hightower officiated. Martin's in charge. She loved her family and her life revolved around her family and her church. She loved cooking meals for her family and was an avid gardner. Born July 14, 1911 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of William and Nettie Harmon Sharp. She was the widow of George W Tidwell. In addition to her husband and her parents; she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Thelma Lee Tidwell; a granddaughter, Karen Rhoades; a grandson, Charles E McCoy; a brother Luther Sharp; and a half-brother, Coy Gaylor. Mrs Tidwell is survived by three daughters; Reva Rush and her husband, Earl, of Newport News, VA, Lillie Rhoades of Nolansville, Texas, and Geneva Goodman and her husband, James, of Clinton; three sons, Lonnie D Tidwell and his wife, Loretta, of Maryville, Glen Tidwell and his wife, Judy, of Whitehouse, Bobby Tidwell and his wife, Martha, of Woodstock, GA; a sister, Parlie Kidwell of Clinton; and by 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at Noon, Friday, April 4, 2003 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev Donnie Disney officiating. The body will be at the church one hour before services. Burial will be at the church cemetery with the Rev Scott White assisting with the graveside services. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Pleasant View Baptist Church Building Fund, 292 Pleasant View Loop, Clinton, TN 37716. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, April 3 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. He was born Aug 14, 1915 in Anderson County to the late Peter and Linda Baker Kidwell. His first wife; Dorothy Braden Kidwell; a daughter, Joyce Winder; a grandson, Nathan Kidwell; a brother, Harry Lee Kidwell; and a sister, Annabelle Guy, preceded him in death. Mr Kidwell was a minister of the Gospel for 43 years. He had served Dutch Valley, Pioneer, Royal Blue, High Street, Mineral Springs, Piney Grove, Tennessee Hollow, and Lone Mountain Baptist Churches. He also retired from Union Carbides Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge after 25 years service as a truck driver. Services will be at 2 PM Thursday at Batley Baptist Church with the Rev Bedford Bullock, the Rev Archie Nelson, the Rev George Miller and the Rev Calvin Braden officiating. Burial will be at Walker Long Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour before services. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 PM today (Wednesday) at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home.
