    3. Clinton Courier Aug. 7, 1996 J.P. Robbins Aug.3, 1996 J.P. Robbins, 72, of Clinton, died Saturday, Aug.3, 1996, in Woods Memorial Hospital, Etowah. Mr. Robbins was a retired coal miner. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was born May 15, 1924, in Anderson County, the son of John and Ida Poor Robbins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, and two daughters, Susan Marie and Lucille. He is survived by six daughters, Naomi Boley, Aileen Pyles, Lousie Hill and Brenda Pyles of Clinton, Rosa Cherry of Athens and Evon Knox of Jefferson City, two sons, Claude Robbins of Clinton and Hubert Robbins of Petros, four sisters, Magaline Foust of Clinton, and Jeanette Adkins, Eula Hawkins and Cora Robbins of Lake City, 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Family received friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday Aug.4 and Monday Aug.5, in Anderson County Funeral Home, Clinton. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, by the Rev. J.E. Firestone in the chapel of the funeral home. Pallbearers: Robert Pyles, James Robbins, Curtis Lowe, Billy Pyles, Woody Hill and Tommy Cherry. Burial was in Leach Cemetery, Lake City, Arrangements by Anderson County Funeral Home.
