Clinton Courier Nov. 19, 1970 Mrs. Ward Dies In Decatur, Tenn Mrs. Sallie Patterson Ward, 72, formerly of Briceville Rt.1, died unexpectedly last Thursday at her home in Decatur, Tenn. She was a member of the Indian Bluff Baptist Church, where services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Edwin Phillips and the Rev. Guy Lively officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. She leaves her husband, L.D. Ward Sr., two daughters, Mrs. Ruby May of Decatur and Mrs. Dixie Waller of Alabama., four sons, L.D. Ward Jr., of Knoxville,Jack Ward, Robert Ward and Ray Ward all of Decatur, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Mattie Sweat and Mrs. Nancy Patterson, both of Briceville Rt.1, Mrs. Kansas Phillips and Mrs. Oma Phillips, both of Oliver Springs, and Mrs. Elsie Huckaby of Clinton, two brothers, Tom Patterson of Briceville and Lewis Patterson of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
