    3. Clinton Gazette March 22, 1902 Two Deaths Mrs. Cross And Clark Seivers Mrs. Cross, the wife of Mr. J. B. Cross at Dossett, died on last Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock after a lingering illness with that dread disease consumption. Mrs. Cross was about 55 years of age and was the mother of nine children, six of whom survive her. She was a member of the Baptist church and a devoted Christian woman. Besides the six children she leaves to mourn her death, she leaves a husband, a sister who resides in Kansas Mrs. Fox, and three brothers, M.S., Rufe and Ross McClellan, all of Knoxville. The funeral services were held at the residence Monday at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Jas Lyons of Knoxville, assisted by Rev. W.N. Ferris and J. H. Hall of this place. The remains were interred in the church yard cemetery along side of one. We are sorry to state that Mr. Cross is real sick and was unable to attend the burial service. C. B. Seivers, and Old Union soldier died on last Sunday morning at four o'clock at his home in the upper end of the Sixth district at the age of 72 years. Mr. Seivers was born and raised in Anderson County, and with the exception of three years spent in the army, has lived here all of his life. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and twelve children. The funeral services were held at the residence conducted by Rev. W. H. Ferris, pastor of the Baptist church, of which church deceased was a member. The remains were interred in the old Leinart cemetery in Dutch Valley Monday afternoon, the services at the grave being conducted by Rev. Fred Seiber.
