    3. Clinton Courier Sept. 8, 1977 Ex-Employe Of Trucking Firm Dies Lewis Patterson, 69, of Old Lake City Highway, Clinton Rt.2, died at 6:30 a.m. Sept. 1 at Lake City Hospital. He had been ill with emphysema and heart disease of many years. He was a retired employe of Fruehauf Trucking Co. of Ft. Wayne, Ind., where he worked until he returned to Clinton area four years ago. In earlier years he was a coal miner in the New River area. Patterson was a member if Indian Bluff Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. A native of Rosedale community, he was the son of the late Melton and Mary Aslinger. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola Phillips Patterson, five sisters, Mrs. Mattie Sweat and Mrs. Oma Phillips of Lake City, Mrs. Kansas Phillips of Oliver Springs, Mrs. Nancy Patterson of Briceville and Mrs. Elsie Huckaby of Clinton and a half-brother Tom Patterson of Briceville. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Martin Funeral Home chapel in Lake City with the Rev. Henry Duncan and the Rev. Dan Daugherty officiating. Burial was in Phillips Cemetery at Rosedale.
