Clinton Courier May 5-6, 1996 George Bass April 30, 1996 George W. Bass, 68, of Oliver Springs died Tuesday, April 30, 1996,in East Tennessee Baptist Hospital, Knoxville. Mr. Bass was an Oliver Springs native and attended Kellytown Baptist Church. He retired in 1973 from Union Carbide after 21 years of service. He also worked as a self-employed electrician. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Marvin and Elise Bailey Bass. Survivors are his wife, Mona "Massengill" Bass of Oliver Springs, sons and daughters-in-law, G.W. and Bonnie Bass and Randy and Jennifer Bass all of Oliver Springs, daughter and son-in-law, Bobby Caudill of Oliver Springs, brothers, Rev. Haze Bass of Oliver Springs, Warren Bass of Oliver Springs and Rev. Bill Bass of Oliver Springs, grandchildren, Jason Bass, Derick Caudill and Darin Caudill, step-granddaughters, Diana Graves and Tonya Kelly, step-grandsons, Derek Vanover and Chris Glandon, a special friend, Fred Smith of Oliver Springs, and several nieces and nephews. Family received friends 5-8 p.m. and Masonic service were held 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2 in Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs. Funeral services were held 2 p.m., May 3, in Kellytown Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Hensley and the Rev. Garvin Walls officiating. Burial followed in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
