Clinton Courier Jan. 15, 1981 Native Of New River Area Dies A native of New River area who had spent most of her life in Clinton, Mrs. Alice Daugherty Loy, 59, of Brooks Gap Rd., Clinton Rt.1, died Tuesday of an apparent heart attack. She been sick about four years. Mrs. Loy was a member of New Home Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and raising flowers. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Loy, two sons, Albert Loy of Powell Rt1., and Paul Loy of Fowler St., Clinton, mother, Mrs. Minnie Daugherty of Clinton Rt.1, a sister, Mrs. Ruth Pruitt of Chicago, a brother, Jonah Daugherty of Knoxville, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at Martin Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. J.D. Ridenour officiating. Burial is to be in Red Hill Church Cemetery.
