    1. [TNANDERS] Don Wallace Carden {Obituary}
    2. Barbara Kesterson
    3. Don Wallace Carden, age 77, left us to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 28, 2007, with his sons and grandson at his side. He was born on August 10, 1930 in Olympia, Washington to Ansel Lester Carden and Hazel Adelia (Blackwell) Carden. He was the Great Grandson of James Blackwell and Charles Whipple, both pioneers to the Washington Territory. Don attended Olympia High School, Deitz Business College and Clover Park Vocational School. While serving in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954 he was married to Jean Williams and lived in Nebraska where his first two sons were born. Upon returning to Olympia he worked various jobs, primarily for the State of Washington, where he retired from the Department of Labor and Industries after 17 years. He also lived in Seattle and Tacoma for a brief period of time. He was a former member of the Young Democrats, Olympia Jaycees, Fraternal Order of Eagles, The American Legion and the Olympia Genealogical Society. Don spent many hours researching his family history, proudly tracing some of his decedents from Virginia back to 1635 when they arrived here from England. Don was quite the world traveler visiting all 50 states, South America, New Zealand, Asia and all of Europe, including Russia. His vast collection of post cards and memorabilia will be treasured for years to come. Don was blessed with quite a sense of humor, always having a quick one-liner and could make about anyone laugh. He deeply loved his family and especially his sons, David Carden of Olympia, Byron Carden of Olympia, and Jeff Carden of Seattle. He shared a special and unique bond with his Grandson, Shawn Carden, who cared for him during the last years of his life. (Bless your heart Shawn!!) Don is also survived by his loving sister, Carol Shelton of Olympia, who will miss him dearly; 2 nieces, 1 nephew; great nieces and nephews; and many friends. A graveside service will be held at Odd Fellows Memorial Park on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by Mills & Mills, Tumwater. Published in The Olympian on 10/6/2007. Thurston County, Olympia, Washington

    3. Don & I had a special person to find who was Leonadz Prosisie son of Thomas Dudley Prosise ,who married Evelyn Rains but we never did but he said when he got on the other side he would send me a message.(smile) . One thing that I find out of order is that Don & Jean were divorced and Don never remarried Jean did but the two never had children by any other so don't know if it's important.
