    3. I may have the address incorrect Helen. Go to www.rootsweb.com/~tnmcmin2 and click on LINKS the correct address should be there. DNA isn't technologically advanced enough to pinpoint specifical tribal affiliation....just that the evidence is there in the form of a "Q" Haplogroup. They have advanced somewhat in this and the Family Tree DNA site is good reading on this particular subject. If a male is tested it goes directly back thru his paternal lineage. If a female is tested it goes directly back thru her maternal lineage....mother, grandmother, grandmother's mother, etc. Many more Cherokee villages were strewn up and down the Little Tennessee River. You should make a trip down to Vonore and visit Fort Loudon State Park, Sequoyah Museum and ask for directions up to the Chota Tenasi Memorial. This memorial stands on the site of Chota, the city of Peace and the hub of Cherokee life during the 1700's. Jeff Wells it the park manager there and a history buff....he's into historic re-enactments which are done for public viewing. They have one coming up soon, in March.
