Clinton Courier Aug 23, 1989 James A. Silvey James A. Silvey, 83, of Pleasant View Road,Clinton, Rt.8, died Sunday at his home. He had been in declining health about five months, a grandson said.He had retired from Magnet Mills in Clinton and had farmed for several years. Silvey was born in the Wheat Community, now part od Oak Ridge, to the late W.F. and Ida Phillips Silvey.He moved to Anderson County as a child and lived in Clinton on Howard Street before moving to the Black Oak Community. He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church. A brother, Leonard Silvey preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Edith Silvey,A daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and O.C.Willard of Clinton, a stepdaughterm Dora Dean Biggs of Clinton, grandsons and wife, Larry and Nancy Pyatt of Hixson, David and Susan Pyatt and Steve and Gwenda Pyatt, all of Clinton, five great grandchildren, sisters, Mrs. Fred (Jean)Burress and Savannah Silvey of Clinton. Funeral services were held Monday night at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mack Smith and the Re.Kenneth Ivey officiating. Burial was on Tuesday in Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens.
