    2. >From The Oak Ridger 31 Aug 2007 Harold Fletcher, age 75, of Oliver Springs, Knoxville College graduate and former head coach, Harold Fletcher, age 75, of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at his home. Born in Front Royal, Virginia, Harold came from high school in Manassas, Virginia, to Tennessee in 1951 to attend Knoxville College, where he played football and was the quarterback for four years. Following his college career after several years as instructor and coach for the state of Tennessee at Pikeville, Harold returned to Knoxville College as head coach of the Bulldogs for an additional two years. After coaching, Mr. Fletcher became the director of the Scarboro Community Center for the city of Oak Ridge, and eventually worked for 28 years at the Y-12 Plant, retiring in 1998. He is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and John Fletcher and by brothers, Hampton and Johnny He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 52 years, Alma Griffin Fletcher; five children, Adrian Fletcher of Huntsville, Alabama; VaNita Boston of Oliver Springs; Pauletta Fletcher of Dayton, Ohio; Alicia (Calvin) Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Elizzabeth Fletcher of the home. He is also survived by two sisters, Edna Baltimore and Helen Fletcher of Front Royal, Va.; a brother-in-law, Bronce (Barbara) Griffin of Oliver Springs; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Woods and Alyce Griffin, both of Oliver Springs; a host of nieces and nephews, Virginia (Tony) Brown, Evelyn Fletcher, Walter Fletcher, Johnny Fletcher all of Virginia; Larry (Valerie) Boulware of Virginia; R.J. (Melva) Boulware of Columbia, S.C.; Broncine (Steve) Carter of Laurel, Md.; Ronolda (Robert) Dooley, Falls Church, Va.; Greg (Mitzi) Griffin of Oliver Springs; Joe (Marilyn) Griffin of Knoxville, Tenn.; Anthony Fritz of Oliver Springs; Kenneth Fritz of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Tchad (Suzanne) Griffin of Knoxville, Tenn.; and Yvette Woods of Oliver Springs, and a very special nephew Tyrone Fritz of Oliver Springs. Special friends include Fred H. Foster, Ruby Jean Knaff, Jeremiah Henderson, Phillip Hyman, Charles Mitchell (Jane) of Front Royal, Va.; and many who experienced him as a teacher, coach, leader and support person that had a significant impact on their lives. The family will receive friends from 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at Sharp Funeral Home, 209 Roane St., Oliver Springs. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at Little Leaf Baptist Church, 228 Tri-County Boulevard, Oliver Springs. Burial and graveside services will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
