My dad, was the best dad ever and the greatest pap-pa. Things he loved to do were getting up early, going to the flea market, buying and reselling was what he was known for. He was a member over 50 years of the American Legion, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He loved car races, NASCAR and Dirt. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a very hard worker, avid mechanic that loved to work on cars. He was over the road truck driver for over 30 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mae Comer Orick; brothers, Bill, Bob, and Sam Orick; sisters, Agnes Ford and Geneva McNeeley. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Orick of LaFollette; sons, Steve Orick of West Virginia, Dr. Rick Orick and wife Dr. Lijuan Yuan of Blacksburg, VA, Billy Orick and Teddy Orick both of LaFollette, Timmy and Sheila Orick of Knoxville, and Kenny and Becky Orick of Lake City; daughters, Pat of Baltimore, Cindy Ellison and husband, Kevin of MO, Tina Grimes and husband: James of Mobile, Ala, Alma White of Clinton and Melissa Webb of Jacksboro; sister, Hazel Phillips of Vasper; 22 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the wife of Tom Rodgers and the daughter of the late Bill Stiner and Betty Gamble Stiner. She was a native of Jacksboro and member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of the Ridge. She graduated Mary Washington College in Virginia and received a Master's Degree in English from Clemson University. She was an English teacher at Strom Thurmond High School. She is survived by her husband and mother; son, Mark Rodgers of Atlanta; sister, Cindy Boshears of Clinton. Graveside services were held June 22 at the Turkey Ridge Cemetery in Edgefield, SC.
