For what this is worth !! from Anderson Co., Book 1796-1996.( by Carolyn Johnson) Sam & Rita Cox. Anderson Co., Spanish American War Veteran, Sam Cox was the son of Charles & Mahalie Walker Cox. His wife Rita was the dau. of Randolph & Nancy Jane Wright Humpherys Graham. She was a half sister to my great grandmother, Jemima GrahamWilliams Hawkins Rose & "Aunt Rittie " to my grandmother, Margaret Williams Rosenbalm. Sam & Rita were parents of 9 children.1. Marie 2, Ralph, who married Willie Johnson, 3. Fletcher, who married Edna Miller 4, Lee, who married Elzie Overton, 5, Geneve, who married Roy West. 7, Mildred, 8, Mary who married Ray Kelly and 9 Beulah , who married Conda Beets, Sammie West, the only surviving member of Sam & Rita's family, recalls how his sister Marie became ill and died while planning to be married. A friend made the dress for her burial from the material she had chosen for her wedding dress. This book also shows a picture of Sam Cox & his wife Nancy Jane Wright Humphrets Graham. Phyllis
