From the Knoxville News Sentinel 25 Feb 2005 BURRIS, BLANCHE - age 68 of Caryville, McGHEE, DOUGLAS M. - age 58 of Caryville, MIKEAL, JERRY H. - age 59, of Clinton, NORMAN, JOHN MICHAEL, SR. - WHITE, KENNETH "BUTCH" - Age 67 of the Marlow Community, BURRIS, BLANCHE - age 68 of Caryville, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at her residence. She was born November 19, 1936 in Anderson County, TN to the late Arthur and Gladys Merwin Neer. Blanche was a member of the Berachas Baptist Tabernacle. She was a very loving wife and mother. Blanche is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Bransom; son, Virgil Burris, brother, Carl Neer and sister, Mary Daugherty. Survivors: husband of 53 years, Ellis Burris Caryville, TN; sons, Arthur Burris & wife Libby, Claxton, TN, Jimmy Burris & wife Linda, Jacksboro, TN, Donnie Burris, Oak Ridge, TN, Arthur James Neer, Anderson County; daughter, Nancy Burris & Bobby Andrews, Caryville, TN; brothers, Clyde Neer, Lake City, TN, Doug Neer, Powell, TN; sister, Gladys Harrill, Norris, TN, Bertha Fritts, Andersonville, TN; 9 grandchildren; one special grandson, Jimmy. McGHEE, DOUGLAS M. - age 58 of Caryville, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville, TN. He was born February 26, 1946 in Anderson County, TN to the late Woodrow and Vonnie Eldridge McGhee. Doug was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, selling cars and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: his parents and brother, Albert Wayne McGhee. Survivors: wife, Willa Lee McGhee, Caryville, TN; sons, James Petty & wife Kelly, South Carolina, Timothy McGhee & wife Kristie, Caryville, TN; daughters, Cheryl Langley, Oliver Springs, TN, Donna Miller & husband Charles, Lake City, TN, Treasure Hicks & husband David, Caryville, TN; brothers, Alvin McGhee & Nancy, New River, TN, Ray McGhee & Joan, South Carolina, Dave McGhee & Diane, Karns, TN, Mike McGhee & Joyce, Heiskell, TN; sisters, Alma McGhee, New Tazwell, TN, Willa Rector & Bil, Crossville, TN, Vicki Hill & Tony, Powell, TN; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchildren. MIKEAL, JERRY H. - age 59, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Ft. Sanders Parkwest. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. His most recent positions were with Jacobs Engineering and Management Solutions assigned to Alstom. He was vice president and division manager for SAIC's Engineering and Environmental Group; Manager for Project Controls, IT Corporation; Senior Consultant, Decision Planning Corp. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had a BS Degree from North Carolina State University and a MS Degree from the US Air Force Institute. Preceded in death by father, E.R. Mikeal. Survivors: wife, Connie Mikeal of Clinton; daughters, Tina & husband David Adkins of Raleigh, NC, Angie & husband Josh Yonce of Oak Ridge; son, Paul & wife Marlo Mikeal of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Taylor and Chandler Adkins, Amanda and Liam Mikeal; mother, Lucille Mikeal of Todd, NC. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, February 25, 2005 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Saturday at St. Therese Catholic Church with Father Bill McKenzie officiating. His burial will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Millcreek Community Cemetery in Todd, North Carolina. Charles Seivers Blvd, Clinton, TN 37716 Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. NORMAN, JOHN MICHAEL, SR. - loving husband and father, passed away Thursday morning at home after a lengthy illness. Mr. Norman was a University of Tennessee graduate and was employed at the Oak ridge National Laboratory. In addition, he taught Domestic Violence classes for ETHRA and enjoyed studying, reading and writing about microbiology and science. He also served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Norman of Maryville. He is survived by his loving wife, Dee Norman; and two wonderful sons, Michael and Matthew of Knoxville; his mother, June Norman, Maryville and a brother, Greg, Maryville. In addition, Mr. Norman is also survived by nephews; numerous special friends in Knoxville, Oak Ridge and in Southwest Ga. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 26. The service will be conducted at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. Steven Sallee officiating. Interment will be in Arlington, Ga. on Saturday, March 5, 2005. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Sulpher Springs Cemetery in Clinton, TN with Rev. Don Ambrose officiating.
