She was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Barnes; parents, Elisha and Rhoda Smith Williams; brother, Troy, Clarence, Paul Robert, Verlin and Thomas Franklin Williams. She is survived by her sons, Kermit and Ken Barnes of Sidney, OH; daughters, Judy Boruff of Morristown, Vickie Perron of Dania, Fla; 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; brother, Elisha Williams; sisters, Patsy Graves and Azalee Goins, all of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews. Daniel Michael Berry, age 29 of Jacksboro went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 8 at Vanderbilt Medical Center Nashville. He was a member of the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church and had worked at Tru-Skill Machine Shop in Oak Ridge for the past four years as a machinist. He is survived by his parents, Danny and Mary Phillips Berry of Caryville; brother, Alan Lee Berry of Jacksboro; best friend, Chris Cooper; grandparents, Arlie (Dock) and Valtina Phillips of Caryville, Reese Berry of Oneida; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him very much. Lassie Dilbeck Black, age 81 of LaFollette passed away Feb. 8 at her home. She attended Lick Creek Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Black. She is survived by her sons, Charles, Paul and Robert Black, all of LaFollette; daughter, Ruth Owens of Jacksboro; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Betty Jo (Bean) Braden, age 74, of Powell formerly of Speedwell went to be with the Lord on Feb. 14 at Baptist West Hospital in Knoxville. She was born August 1, 1930. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Braden Chapel Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher of 22 years and was loved by her students. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy David (Pete) Braden; parents, Ike and Maude (Clawson) Bean.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ben David and Betty Gail (Russell) Braden of Powell; granddaughter, Elizabeth Nicole Braden,; sister Patsy Ellison; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Crisp; mother, Vyreda Housley Crisp; grandparents, John and Nellie Crisp, Harley and Belle Housley. He is survived by his wife, Paulette Crisp; daughters, Patricia and Melissa; sons, Frankie, Jeffrey and Mickiel, all of GA; sister, Mary Sue Gilley; brother, Jerry Wayne Crisp, both of ALA. Funeral services were at C.J. Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville, GA. William "Bill" L. Deavours, age 84 of LaFollette, passed away on Feb. 12 at Lake City Health Care Center. He was of the member of the Methodist Church of Alabama. He was employed at JC Penney's for 24 years. He was the owner of D-Mart of LaFollette. He worked at Campbell County High School for 24 years. Bill Deavours and Jerry Bacon co-founded the board game call "Run for the White House." He was a veteran of World War II. He was the publisher and author of two books. He served on city and County Planning Commission. He was a well known news paper columnist of the LaFollette Press. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dora Cowart Deavours and by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cox Deavours of LaFollette; son, Billy Deavours of LaFollette; son and daughter in laws, Dennis and Cora Deavours of LaFollette, and David and Jennifer Deavours of Eureka, Montana; daughter and son in law; Kathy and Billy Sampieri of LaFollette; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brother and sister in law; George and Reba Deavours of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends. She and her husband operated Gray's Service Station on Highway 25, North of LaFollette for many years.Funeral services were Feb. 14.at Walters Chapel. Interment was in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Josie Lee Weaver Newsome, age 72 of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Jellico pa ssed away Feb. 8 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL after a long illness. He was a retired school bus and taxi driver. Jack E. Rhea, age 75 of LaFollette, born June 22, 1929 in Knoxville passed away Feb. 10 at St. Mary's Hospice in Halls. He was a member of the LaFollette United Methodist Church and was a Navy Airforce Veteran. He retired from United Airlines and the Knoxville Utilities Board. He attended Knoxville High School and the University of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack E. and Rose Coppock Rhea. He is survived by his wife, Carol Day Rhea; sister, Betty Rose McCulley of Knoxville. Funeral services were Feb. 13 at the LaFollette United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Hensley officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd "Bud" Shelton; parents, Fred and Julia Walden Gibson; son, Lennis W. Shelton; brothers, Virgil Gibson and Charles Gibson.
