Baker, 65, of Harriman and formerly of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at his home. Mr. Baker was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Spencer, Tenn. He, along with his family, moved to Oliver Springs in 1955. Before retirement in 1997, Mr. Baker was employed at the Tennessee Valley Authority Kingston Steam Plant for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Mill Baptist Church of Harriman. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Baker. In addition to his mother, Athyne "Granny" Baker of Oliver Springs, Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 37 years, Naomi Scott Eaker, of Harriman; his sisters, Gail Daughert and husband, Louie, of Troutville, Va., Helen Savage and husband, George, of Sparta, and Louise Davis and husband, Eugene, of Nashville; his brothers, Charles Baker and wife, Sammie, of Spencer, Carl Baker of Pleasant View, Tenn., Joe Baker and wife, Elizabeth, of Coalfield; and his special friends Kelvin, Keith, Kelly, Nancy, Genan, Nancy, Ernestine, and Kelvin Sargent, all of whom were considered family; and a host of nieces and nephews, other special friends, and extended family members. The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Neeley and the Rev. Lewis Fisher officiating. Christine Campbell, 85, of Slidell, La., formerly of Oak Ridge, died Monday Jan. 31, 2005, at the Slidell Memorial Hospital. The daughter of Martin and Mary Carroll York, she was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Jellico. A member of the Glenwood Baptist Church, she enjoyed quilting and sewing, and loved her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Foster Campbell, two sisters and one brother. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her son, Lloyd Campbell and wife, Reba, of Winder, Ga.; her daughter, Doris Anderson and husband, Thomas, of Slidell; six grandchildren, Chris Campbell and Duane Campbell and wife, Amy, all of Winder, Steven Campbell, currently overseas with the military, Teri LeBlanc of Albany, La., Leigh Moore and husband, Chris, of Pearland, Texas, and Diona Anderson of Slidell; and by seven great-grandchildren, Brad Woods, Cody LeBlanc, Alyssa Childs, Rachel Moore, Audra Sandrock, Kaitlyn Sandrock and Parker Campbell. Born April 25, 1911, in Scott County, Va., she was the daughter of Robert H. and Maggie Davis Robinette. She grew up in the Bradbury community of Roane County, where her family farmed and were active members of that farming community. Her parents moved their family of six children from Virginia to Roane County in 1914. Her father and his brother moved their possessions with horses and wagons. The trip took four days. Her mother and the six children came by train to their new home, a log house by the creek near the ridge. She attended Bradbury and Wheat Schools and played basketball for Roane County High School. After marriage to John R. Cate, captain of the Roane County High School football and basketball teams, they moved to Pontiac, Mich. Mrs. Cate was always generous in sharing their home with friends from Tennessee who went to Michigan seeking jobs. They shared the Cate family hospitality, her excellent cooking, and the bounty from the vegetable and flower gardens. Though always a homemaker, she was quite an entrepreneur, having bought and supervised the renovation of several houses. Her membership in Columbia Avenue Baptist Church in Pontiac was important to her, and she was very active in church life. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her sisters, Eva, Georgia and Oleta, and a brother Garvin. She is survived by her sister, Grace, of Kingsport. Mrs. Cate is also survived by her daughters, Joan of Clinton, Mary of Clarkston, Mich., grandsons, Scott Milner and wife, Natalie, of Somerville, N.J., Todd Milner and wife, Kimberly, of Edwards, Colo., and Benn Weiner of Clarkston; and her great-grandchildren, Eliza and Claire Milner of Oak Ridge, Lauren Milner of Edwards, Colo., and Katherine Milner of Somerville, N.J. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2005, ay Bradbury United Methodist Church. Cyble "Louise" Raley Ridenour, 64, of Heiskell, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, with loved ones at her side after a brief battle with cancer. Louise was a loved and respected member of the Hickory Valley community and Zion Hill Baptist Church. Her lifetime career was providing loving child-care out of her home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James R. Ridenour, her parents, Curtis Raley and Cyble Mills Raley, a brother, Charles Raley, and a grandson, Joseph "Joey" Hatmaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Duggins, and a special friend, Arnette Crabtree.
