Jerry, I need some help. Remember what I said about Fannie Fain White tonight? I don't have all the information in front of me but that might not matter Here is my story. Kenneth told me Fannie married a ? Baker and he founded Bakersfield, Calif.(that kind of tells me she didn't marry in Tennessee. I was raised 80 miles from there and felt that was not true so I sent for her death certif. thinking her husbands name might be on it but it was not . she was a widow. she died in Pamona, Calif which is L.A. Co., & had lived there for 17 years. She was the daughter of Nickolas Fain White b. 15, Jan 1823 & Mary Jordan Worsham B. 9, Nov.1823. they had children Susan Eliza, Emma Chester, Mary, & maybe one son. It's been said they were conected to Whites Fort but I went there & could not find him conected. Fannie was born 27, Jul 1852 in Knoxville. all children born there & married there. Fannie was cremated and a Mrs McPherson was the imforment on cert.date of death 18, Jan. 1940. I don't know who she is or if Fannie had children. I say if one builds a city they don't leave there.Well, it takes writng things down to see where I've gone wrong I need the census in Calif.Oh, dear me. If you have any ideas toss them at me,.this is never ending.I find Emma C. & Mary living with Eliza in Anderson Co., as their mother dies. Nite Nite, Phyllis

In 1930, Fannie F. Baker was the head of household, age 77, widowed, birth places TN TN VA, living in Township 2 of Inyo County, California. The only other person living in the household was a grandson Fred W. Schatten age 32, single, birth places CA CA CA. Checking back a little further, in 1910 she was a widow in Inyo County, California, age 57, TN VA TN (father and mother reversed from 1930), 5 children, 4 living. There were others in the household I haven't transcribed. In 1900, she was a widow in Inyo County, California, age 47, 5 children, 5 living, TN TN VA, in the household were four children -- William F., Elton P., George A, and Walter A.K. The brothers were all CA VA TN, so Mr. Baker was probably born in Virginia. In 1880, she was the wife of William A. Baker in Inyo County, California. William was age 51 if I am reading it correctly (much older than Fannie), VA TN VA. The children were William F., Elton, and Fannie G. So I guess between the various censuses we have identified all five children. Hope this helps. Jerry
