From The Knoxville News Sentinel 23 Feb 2005 AUSMUS, DELNO DALLAS - age 69 of Knoxville, FORRESTER, HATTIE L. - age 88, of Caryville, JONES, WILMA JEAN - age 68, of Caryville, ROBERTS, THOMAS (TOMMY) YOUAKIM, SHANNON JOY PATTERSON - age 32 of Andersonville, AUSMUS, DELNO DALLAS - age 69 of Knoxville, was born Christmas day in 1935 to Robert and Monnie Goins Ausmus, and departed this life Sunday morning, Feb. 20 at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. He was raised in the Valley View Community of LaFollette, attended Valley View School, graduated from LaFollette High School and graduated from Berea College cum laude. He did graduate work at Memphis State and at U.T. he began his career teaching math and physics at LaFollete High School in 1964, he began working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a physicist in the Nuclear Science Division where he was promoted in 1974 to shift supervisor over the X-10 plant. During this time, he received several awards for outstanding services and training. He retired in November of 2000 after 37 years there. His scientific knowledge was as astounding as his love and devotion to his family and friends. He enjoyed laughter, the Vols, NASCAR, world travel and time spent with his family and friends. He was a wonderful precious husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend who had a huge kind, loving heart to all. He was a beloved leader in his career and a solid anchor and rock to his family. His friendly smiles, gentle touch, and encouraging words, as well as his whole being, will be immensely missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Enlo Ausmus. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Jane Cook Ausmus; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Linda Ausmus of Oak Ridge; daughters and step-daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Frazier, of Jacksboro, Pam and Lance Ward, of Huntsville, Karen and John Defenderfer and Jodi and Rickey Nolan of Powell, Rhonda and Rickie Southers and Minda and Randy Woods of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren and step grandchildren, Jennifer and Robert Ausmus of Oak Ridge, Daryl, Kristi, and Coty Frazier of Jacksboro, Dara and Shelby Ward of Huntsville, Megan Defenderfer and Emma Nolan of Powell, Jason Woods, Tim Woods, Andrew Woods, Sarah Lane, and Morgan Southers of Knoxville; mother Monnie Ausmus of LaFollete; sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Richard Kitts and brother and sister in law J.C. and Julia Ausmus all of LaFollette; sister in law Victoria Cook Kelley of Knoxville; brother in law and wife Howard and Hilda Cook of Louisville, TN; one surviving aunt Cleo Nelson of Oak Ridge; and special cousins and friends, David Ausmus and Ray Goins of Caryville along with a host of other family members, neighbors, and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home in LaFollette with the funeral immediately following at 8 p.m. Dr. Patricia Clendenen and Bro. Jerry Dagley will be officiating. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday, Feb. 24 at 3:00 at Sherwood Memory Gardens in Knoxville, TN. Pallbearers will be Jerry Dagley, John Denderfer, Daryl Frazier, Ray Goins, Rickey Nolan, Rickie Southers, Lance Ward and Randy Woods. Honoary pallbearers will be Jeff Ausmus, Dallas Coty Frazier and Robert Delno Ausmus. Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. FORRESTER, HATTIE L. - age 88, of Caryville, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005. She was the daughter of the late George & Florence Smith Lowe. Preceded in death by husband: James T. Forrester, sister, Mary Cooper. Retired from the Expanded Nutrition Program of the University of Tennessee in Campbell Co. after 18 years. Member of the Home Demonstration Club, Community Club, and the Republican Club. She a former Mayor of Caryville. Survivors: daughter & son-in-law: Betty Jo & Paul Gould, Dayton, Ohio; sons & daughter-in-law: Daniel R. & JaWanna Forrester, Caryville, James D. Forrester, Teula, Miss.; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren & many lifelong friends. Funeral Service 8 p.m. Thursday Cross Chapel. Interment: 10 a.m. Friday Jacksboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cross Funeral Home. JONES, WILMA JEAN - age 68, of Caryville, passed away Monday, February 21, 2005 at her home. She was a member of Ivy Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents Lawrence & Icie McKamey Orick, brothers, Aubra & Charles Orick, sister Nadine Ward. Survivors: husband: Raymond Jones, Caryville; son: Joseph Ray Jones, Caryville; daughter & son-in-law: Frances & Jerry Ramsey, Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren: Jason Ramsey, Cassie Bell, Lindsay Jones & Garrett Jones; great-grandsons: Zachary & Aedan Ramsey; sister: Cassie Daughtery, Caryville; several nieces, nephews & cousins & a host of friends. Funeral service: 8 p.m. Wednesday Cross Chapel, Rev. Jerry Ramsey, Rev. Jimmy Rutherford officiating. Interment: 11 a.m. Thursday Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cross Funeral Home. ROBERTS, THOMAS (TOMMY) -went to be with Jesus on February 22, 2005. He was born on October 2, 1919. He was retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he was a machinist. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre during World War II. He was a member of Kerbela Klown Korp and Inskip Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Patrick Roberts; parents, Tom and Grace Roberts; sisters, Betty Withers and Dorothy Ann Rudder; brother, James C. Roberts. Survivors include son, Mike Roberts; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerry Sharp; grandchildren, Randy Sharp and finance', Mary Thomason, Chris and Jennifer Sharp, Julie Roberts and Tommy and Kristie Roberts; great-grandsons, Justin, Brandin, Tyler, Austin and Conner Sharp; Cole, Thomas and Eli Roberts; sister, Jane Whitmire of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his friend and caregiver, Shirley Vandaveer and to Baptist Hospice for their loving care during Dad's illness. She was of the Church of God faith. Preceded in death by grandmother, Johnnie Frye. Survived by husband, Joe Youakim; proud mother of son, Corey Spoon; father, Noel Patterson and step mother, Kathi of Lenoir City; mother, Molly Monday and step father, Bob Monday; step-father, Brian Sims of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Noelle Walker and husband Brian; brother, Cain Boyd all of Powell; grandparents, Gene Frye of Powell, Ozell and Anna Mae Patterson of Sweetwater; nieces, Madison and Savannah Walker; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
