From The Knoxville News Sentinel 20 Feb 2005 LAWSON, BLANCHE HALL - age 81 of Lake City, LAY, ALVIN CURTIS - 75 of Science Hill, Ky., PYLES, CHARLES (CHARLIE) - age 63 of Illinois, formerly of Andersonville TN, RICHARDSON, LAWRENCE EDWARD - age 69, of Andersonville, LAWSON, BLANCHE HALL - age 81 of Lake City, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2005 at the St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. She was born May 28, 1923 in Claiborne County, Tenn. She was a longtime member of the Clinch River Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Bible School. She also enjoyed working with the Clinch River Food and Clothes Closet. She loved attending "Monday school" at her church where she fellowshipped with her friends. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where she received her Masters degree in teaching. She taught for 32 years in the Anderson County School System. She enjoyed gardening, and was a member of the East Tennessee Iris Society. She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith Lawson, parents, Lloyd and Marjorie Brewer Hall, and brother, Thurman Lee Hall. Survivors: son, Richard Lawson & wife, Murielyn, Heiskell; daughter, Marjorie Lawson, Lake City; grandchildren, Brian Lawson & wife, Heather, Wesley Lawson & fiancé, Marsha, Chris Graves, & wife, Shelby; great grandchildren, Haley Leighanne Lawson, Elijah Graves, Christopher Graves; brother, Clay Hill & wife, Audrey, Milan, Ind.; brothers in law, Vasco Lawson, Alcoa, James Long, Williamsburg, Ky.; sister in law, Wilma Hall, Sunbright; special caregivers, Christa Keyes & Connie Shelton, Lake City; several nieces & nephews, and many friends. He was born in LaFollette, Tenn. on January 14, 1930 to the late Curtis Lay and Bertha Lay Jones. He was a retired Principal of Northern Kentucky State Vocational Technical School and a member of McKinney Baptist Church. He was a US Air Force veteran attaining the rank of Sgt. in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Rice Lay of Science Hill; two daughters, Yvonneda & Bill Leuthardt, Monroe City, Ind. & Cheri Lay, Science Hill; a son, Alvin & Dina Lay, Somerset; three grandchildren, Clint Winstead, Nate Johnson & Samuel Lay; two sisters, Judie & Bob Elliott, Knoxville & Peggy & Bill Fine, Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Don & Brenda Jones, Maryville, Tenn.; two sisters in law, Mary Ann Jones, Powell & Shirley Lay, Spartanburg, SC; an uncle, Albert Henegar, Science Hill; and eleven nieces & nephews. PYLES, CHARLES (CHARLIE) - age 63 of Illinois, formerly of Andersonville TN, passed away suddenly early Saturday morning February 19, 2005 in Cincinnati Ohio. RICHARDSON, LAWRENCE EDWARD - age 69, of Andersonville, passed away at his home peacefully at 6:45 a.m. Saturday morning. He was a member and Deacon of Alder Springs Baptist Church. Member of J.C. Baker Lodge 720 and Scottish Rites Bodies. Former employee of C.B. Atkins and Silver Manufacturing Co. Retired from Marlock, Inc. 1998. He did professional picture framing and matting at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Lizzie Langley Richardson; brothers, Leslie Richardson, Pete and wife Loral Richardson; sisters, Zola Richardson, Deb Loy, Denna Berry, Kathleen DeVault, Thelma Davidson and husband Howard; brother-in-law Edward Bridges; niece Rita Izzary; mother and father-in-law Myrtle Graves Taylor and Clifford Taylor. Survived by loving wife of 48 years 4 months, Edith Taylor Richardson; loving daughter Karen Perry and friend Sammy Reno, Lisa and Bill Tice; special grandson Robbie Helton and wife Jennifer; granddaughter Michelle Helton Widner and husband Rodney; great-granddaughter Keylie Jade Widner; sister-in-law Opal Taylor; loving brother Rev. Vaughn Richardson and wife Juanita; sisters Fontella Tudor and husband J.C. of Andersonville, Betty Bridges of Knoxville; brother-in-law B.T. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Alder Springs Baptist Church with Funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. Rev. Jimmy Davidson and Rev. Tim Day officiating.
